| The Bulgarian Rose Co. was created in n 1948 based on the existing in the Karlovo Valley essential oils and aromatic products distilleries. Initially the factory was an independent entity, which after the creation of the Concern Pharmachim was joined as a subsidiary. Until the 1960’s the production of the Bulgaria Rose Co. is seasonal and includes distillation of essential oils – Rose oil, Lavender oil, Peppermint oil; concretes – Rose and Lavender; and absolutes – Rose and Lavender absolutes. The needs of the Bulgarian cosmetic and perfumery industries imposed the production of Bulgarian synthetic aromatic products. The new direction was established with the 1967 creation of a new facility Synthesis in the City of Karlovo. In the next year also in Karlovo is created a facility for soap compositions, intended for aromatizing of soaps, detergents and preparations for consumer industries. Two scientific groups are created as well to serve the production of synthetic aromatic substances and compositions.  In the beginning of 1973 begins the incorporation of sauces and compositions for the tobacco industry and compositions for toothpaste aromatization. In 1976 the factories in Karlovo, Kazanlak, Plovdiv, Gorna Oriahovitsa and Shoumen are combined in the Bulgarian Rose Ltd headquartered in Karlovo. In the same year is created the Research and Development Center. The R&D center works on implementing products in production, solving production issues and at the same time developing and adopting new technologies and products. In this period the company is the main producer of natural rose water and lavender alcohol. In 1981 are adopted and production begins of series of phyto shampoos. During the 1983 to 1996 the Bulgarian Rose company is privatized and undergoes several transformations. In 1997 the various facilities are privatized and are established as Limited Liability Company. Starting in 2000 the company developed and began production of number of cosmetic lines closing the cycle from production of materials for the cosmetic and perfumery industry to finished forms. Bulgarian Rose Ltd employs highly qualified personnel with extensive experience in the filed of developing of cosmetic products in accordance with the latest trends. On April 28th 2001 Bulgarian Rose Ltd developed and incorporated in production System for Quality Control based on the requirements of the international standards ISO 9000 and in compliance with the model ISO 9001:2000. The company has its own Research laboratory which has received its first accreditation from the Committee on Standards and Metrology in 1994, in compliance with the Bulgarian State Standard EN 45001:1994. Now the Research laboratory is accredited in accordance with the International standard BDS EN ISO /IEC 17025:2001 by the Bulgarian Department of Accreditations with Accreditation certificate BSA Reg. No 63-LI (17) valid until October 31, 2012. This accreditation allows the Research laboratory to perform testing on:

- Synthetic aromatic products and isolates
- Tobacco sauces and compositions
- Essences for food aromatizing
- Cosmetic products
- Chemical preparations for consumer goods
